Rita L. Hilbert, a former Director of the Mount Olive Public Library, has written a book on the history of Mount Olive. She interviewed residents, who shared their personal recollections and photographs, and collected historic memorabilia to use in the book. All material collected is housed in the Heritage Room in the library and is available to the public.
The book has been published and is currently available to purchase at the Mount Olive Public Library. Proceeds from the sale will be used to continue the development of the Heritage Collection.
